Helping authors prepare their manuscripts for publication: editing their text for grammar, spelling, punctuation, and clarity; highlighting any inconsistencies or repetition and suggesting ways to improve the text; checking that chapter titles in the table of contents and chapter heads match; reviewing tables and figures for completeness and consistency with the text as well as labelling and placement of illustrations, figures, and tables; editing notes, citations, and references; and applying the appropriate style guide throughout.
